LG tipped to launch Nexus 4 smartphone

LG is tipped to launch a Google Nexus 4 smartphone at the end of this month, according to reports.

Leaked photos show a smartphone (pictured) with curved edges labelled with the Google and LG logos.

LG's Google Nexus 4 smartphone is expected to have similar specs to the LG Optimus G but will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, rather than the Android 4.0 which the LG Optimus G runs on.

LG is not the only manufacturer tipped to bring out a Nexus 4 device. At least five other manufacturers including Samsung, Sony and HTC are said to be working with Google on their own fourth generation Nexus smartphone launches.

However reports say Google has stipulated that the manufacturers must not add overlays to the Android operating system.

LG is said to be planning to launch its Nexus 4 phone on 29 October, which would coincide with Microsoft’s launch of its Windows Phone 8 platform.
