Apple sells 3 million iPads in three days
Apple has sold three million iPads in the three days since its new mini and fourth generation tablet were launched.
The sales match the three million sales of its new iPad in the opening weekend after its launch in March. Apple launched the fourth generation iPad and iPad mini into 34 countries, including the United Kingdom. The iPad mini has been seen as a response to the increasing sales of smaller Android tablets such as the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire.
Tim Cook, Apple CEO, said: 'Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad. We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We're working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.'
