UK market is sticky for Toffee

Australian accessories company Toffee is planning to open its first office in the UK to build upon its recent international expansion.

The business makes accessories for Apple products including MacBooks, the iPhone and iPad. It started trading directly in the UK through the distributor Computers Unlimited last year after its website had strong sales from the UK.

Natasha Sullivan, founder and CEO of Toffee, said: ‘The UK accessories market has experienced huge growth as consumer appetite for the latest technology increases. There is an oversupply of cases on the market, but I think there will be people looking for accessories that are high quality and that last the life of the device, which is encouraging for a brand like Toffee looking to offer something a bit different from what is currently out there.’

Sullivan (pictured) said Toffee’s products were being aimed broadly. ‘Toffee focuses on complementing and protecting the stylish technology we all use on a daily basis. Our design philosophy is to create slimline, stylish, thoughtful cases that we would be proud to own, that can be used every day, and that don’t look like the typical computer bag or phone case.’

The company sells its products in Apple Premium Resellers, Dixons Travel airport stores, Currys and PC World’s websites – and from next month, Stormfront Retail and Selfridges. Sullivan said the UK office would help it widen the number of retailers it sells its products through. She said: ‘Technology is an integral part of our life nowadays, so we aim to broaden the reach of Toffee into the different retail channels.’
