Vodafone Group creates new enterprise unit

Vodafone Group has created a new group enterprise unit, comprising its global enterprise, carrier services, machine to machine and hosting and cloud services businesses.

Nick Jeffery, currently CEO of Cable & Wireless Worldwide has been appointed group enterprise director for the new unit and will report into Vodafone Group CEO Vittorio Colao. The operator said it is accelerating the integration of C&WW into Vodafone.

Vodafone UK's enterprise team will report into Jeffery. UK enterprise director Peter Kelly will leave Vodafone in the spring, at the end of its financial year. A spokesman said he was leaving to explore other opportunities and will be replaced by Vodafone Ireland chief executive Jeroen Hoencamp. He will take on the new role in the New Year and Kelly will oversee his transition. During his time as enterprise director, Peter Kelly launched Vodafone One Net, its Partner Programme and led the acquisitions of Central Telecom and Yes Telecom.

The group enterprise unit will have a presence in 50 countries and will be supported by dedicated enterprise channels and sales operations. Product and marketing teams will also provide processes and products across the new unit.
