Former Virgin Mobile exec launches pre-pay MVNO
Former Virgin Mobile sales and marketing chief Graeme Hutchinson has launched a new pay-as-you-go MVNO.
White Mobile is offering free calls to other customers of the service, calls to rival networks for 6p per minute, and calls to international numbers from 1p per minute. Texts cost 5p and data costs 2.5p per MB. Users can buy Sim cards from the White Mobile website and be topped up with a £2 minimum spend at thousands of terminals, including Paypoint and 3R.
Hutchinson said: 'Our goal with White Mobile is to bring people closer together by offering them a highly competitive and compelling choice for their domestic and international calling needs. Pay as you go charges are forever increasing while mobile networks are pushing towards long-term contracts and fixed monthly commitments. White Mobile offers freedom, flexibility and is simple so consumers can have a fair and affordable choice.'
The MVNO will run on EE's network. White Mobile's operations director Hamish White said: 'Simplicity combined with outstanding value and great service is the essence of White Mobile, which we believe offers the very best pay as you go choice for UK consumers. This is particularly important in today’s market where pricing is overly complicated and difficult for consumers to understand.'
