Mobile payment company Payleven has announced the launch of a new Chip & Pin payments solution targeted at small businesses in the UK.
Payleven is a mobile payment app that connects a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth to its portable, secure Chip & Pin terminal, and is designed to allow users to take payments anywhere with 3G or Wi-Fi reception.
Ian Marsh, Payleven UK CEO and co-founder, said: ‘Not accepting card payments can cause huge problems for UK small businesses in terms of lost sales and unpaid invoices. No matter whether you’re a merchant with a corner shop, a market stall holder or an electrician at a customer’s house, Payleven is the smart way to get paid – it’s mobile, convenient, secure and low-cost with no monthly fees or contracts.’
Unlike traditional card payment devices, Payleven said it charges purely on a pay-as-you-go basis with no monthly fees. Instead, for each transaction using Payleven, users are charged a flat fee of 2.75% of the sale.
