Vodafone is to bring out its own brand version of HTC's TyTN.
It follows in the footsteps of Orange and T-Mobile, which have both added the TyTN to their portfolios. Orange has rebranded it as the SPV M3100, T-Mobile is calling it the Vario II, and the Vodafone version will be known as the v1605. All three networks are expected to start selling the device this month.
The move indicates the manufacturer is not pushing its own-brand strategy hard in the UK. Florian Seiche, European vice president, said: 'The (UK) market is very operator centric. To maximise our own success we welcome so many networks taking our devices'.
3 has recently revealed that it will soon be adding HTC handsets to its portfolio, and these will, according to Seiche, carry HTC branding.
