Huawei opens two new research centres in Ireland
Huawei has opened two new research and development centres in the Republic of Ireland, creating more than 50 jobs.
The sites are in Cork and Dublin and will initially focus on developing its Smartcare product, which provides customer services products to telecoms operators across Ireland and further afield.
Derek Ding, MD of Huawei Ireland, said: 'The new centre is a significant commitment to Ireland over the next three years, with many more highly-skilled jobs being created. It reflects a deep and long-term commitment to the country. Cork and Dublin were chosen for their well-educated, skilled workforce offering the high quality of talent needed to provide the range of services needed for a strategic OSS R&D centre. Excitingly, the recruitment process has already begun and 12 positions have already been filled.'
