Eight-inch Samsung Galaxy Note set for MWC

Samsung is reportedly readying a mid-sized version of its Galaxy Note tablet, with the device set to make its debut at next month's Mobile World Congress.

The eight-inch device was confirmed by JK Shin, president and head of Samsung's IT and mobile communications division, in an interview with Korean newspaper iNews24. The device would be firmly positioned against the iPad mini, which is a 7.9 inch device. The tablet is likely to include the S-Pen stylus.

However, the manufacturer is unlikely to reveal the successor to the Samsung Galaxy SIII at the Barcelona trade fair, with that device expected to be launched at a flagship event later in the spring.
