A surge in texting has led Leeds-based dealer Diva Telecom to report an increase in sales of 20% to £2.8m.
The dealer has taken on an extra member of staff to handle the increased business in its SMS division, Divatxt. The company said take-up of SMS products had been by organisations including schools, football clubs and financial and retail companies.
MD Erica Lewis said: ‘There’s been an explosion in this area as business heads are getting to grips with the potential of SMS, particularly e-mail-to-text. We are now seeing a fast-growing number of enquiries from some very big companies as well as SMEs and expect exponential growth in this area.’
Lewis added that Diva’s turnover for the year ending July 2012 had been boosted by sales of its international toll-free services, as companies expanded into China and the US. The business is on the lookout for another company to takeover, either in SMS or inbound marketing.
Lewis said: ‘Despite the economic slowdown, we expect to see similar growth for 2013, easily taking us past the £3m mark.’
Among the services Diva Telecom offers is mobile, broadband, telephone conferencing, office systems, call routing and marketing numbers.
