Samsung reveals two handsets ahead of MWC

Samsung has unveiled two new handsets ahead of next month's Mobile World Congress, a 4G handset for younger consumers and a water resistant rugged smartphone.

The Galaxy Express is the LTE-enabled device that will go on sale by the end of June. Samsung said is targeted at 'the young social explorer'. The device is less powerful than the Galaxy SIII but features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.5 inch screen and runs Android Jelly Bean. The handset has a 5MP camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera.

The XCover 2 is water resistant for half an hour to the depth of one metre and is also dust and sand proof. The Android device runs on a 1GHz dual-core processor and has a four inch screen. Users can take photos underwater by using the direct camera button. A release date has yet to be revealed.
