LG prepares L Series II for Mobile World Congress

LG is updating its LG series of handsets, with the first devices set to be launched at next week's Mobile World Congress.

The first handset in the Optimus L Series II will launch this week in Russia, with a UK launch mooted for the spring. The dual-sim Optimus L7 II is an Android Jelly Bean device running on a 1GHz dual-core processor. It has a 4.3-inch screen and a eight-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Each of the devices in the portfolio will share some of the manufacturers unique features, such as being able to share handwritten ideas with others, or personalised hotkeys to launch specific apps. LG said it sold more than 10 million Optimus L Series phones during the first 10 months of sale.

Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: 'LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L SeriesII builds on this heritage of design innovation. By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world.'
