BlackBerry goes global with training programme
Blackberry is extending its major BB10 instore training programme after delivering ‘excellent’ results in its first phase.
The training programme was due to finish at the end of this month but will run through the year, backing further launches of BB10 devices, and also be spun out globally. BlackBerry UK MD Rob Orr said: ‘It’s been a very successful initiative – we are running it into March. It is an initiative we will be running in other markets. It has had excellent results and we now plan to leverage it.’
Orr said the initiative had trained thousands of retail and telesales staff. ‘The aim is to get the channel up to speed so that we have as many customers understanding what [BB10] is about as quickly as possible… There is nothing more powerful than the retail agent or the telesales agent being able to explain what is different about the Z10 and why customers benefit from the experience.’
Orr said BlackBerry staff morale had been boosted by the BB10 launch. He said: ‘The buzz in the office is fantastic. The staff are super motivated and love being part of the launch and retail staff are very grateful to have passionate BlackBerry experts to help them.’
