Vodafone appoints Google's 11th employee to board of directors
Vodafone has appointed a senior advisor to Google CEOs Sergey Brin and Larry Page onto its board of directors.
Omid Kordestani joins as a non-executive director from tomorrow (1 March). After roles at Netscape and Hewlett Packard, he joined Google in 1999 as its 11th employee. He had responsibility for the digital giant's business operations, helping to grow the company to hit sales of more than $20bn.
Vodafone Group chairman Gerard Kleisterlee said: 'Omid has an outstanding track record as a commercial leader and innovator in the technology sector and I am delighted to welcome him to the Vodafone board.'
