LG gives Germans World Cup TV
German World Cup fans will be able to watch streamed matches on the move with the LG-V9000 after 9th June, but UK punters won't have access to the service.
LG said it had given 400 of the 2.2inch wide-swing units to the, presumably, football-mad Bavarian Regulatory Authority for Commercial Broadcasting.
The World Cup Committee and international media will then use the UMTS TDMB units to view what LG claimed is the best quality TDMB pictures to date.
LG-V9000s allow up to one hour of recording, three hours of viewing and 3D surround sound.
There is no information on a UK launch, and UK operators are yet to finalise the infrastructure needed to allow mobile TV.
