Apple and Yahoo in talks about teaming up on software
Apple and Yahoo are reportedly in talks about teaming up to work on software for iPhones and iPads.
According to a report in Bloomberg, Yahoo's CEO Marissa Mayer has held meetings with Eddy Cue, who runs Apple's internet services, to determine ways of integrating Yahoo's software further into Apple's devices. The company already provides Apple with information for its stock and weather applications, as well as sports data for its Siri service.
Mayer, who joined Yahoo from Google last year, is looking to mobile to help turnaround the once dominant digital giant. Last week, Facebook finally announced its mobile play, with its Home software running over the Android operating system on HTC and Samsung devices.
