Samsung signs content deals ahead of S4 launch

Samsung has signed deals with videogame publisher EA, book publisher Random House and Michelin to provide exclusive content for its upcoming Galaxy S4.

Owners of the new Samsung device will be able to download an exclusive edition of EA's Need for Speed: Most Wanted game, with in-game Samsung branding. The game will also be available to play on the Galaxy Note II. The game will be available for free for the first 100,000 S4 owners across Europe. Glenn Roland, vice-president for new platforms and OEM at EA said: 'The introduction of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 will bring outstanding mobile gaming experiences to its players. Our ‘Need for Speed Most Wanted’ offering at launch is one of several EA games specifically optimised for Samsung and will include exclusive content.'

The Michelin Traffic app will give consumers access to real-time traffic information in 11 European countries and the Michelin Restaurants app will give recommendations to eat in France and Germany. In the summer, Samsung will make the Michelin Travel app available, which will provide information for 30,000 tourist attractions.

Samsung has also extended its deal with Random House Mondadori to make 3,400 books from authors such as Ken Follett, EL James or Stephen King available. It also signed a partnership with app developer Goodbeans for its range of family entertainment content such as 'Nighty Night' and 'Little Fox Music Box'.

We are delighted to have exclusive branded Samsung content in a triple A game from one of the world’s foremost video game publishers. We have also secured further partnerships that deliver on our promise to open up the world of possibilities to our customers.'
