Galaxy S 4 breaks sales records at Samsung
The Galaxy S 4 has become Samsung's fastest selling handset ever, breaking through the 10 million sales mark and shifting an average of four units per second.
The milestone, which was predicted by Samsung executives last week, was reached in almost half the time it took for the Galaxy SIII to reach the same sales figure. It took the SII five months and the Galaxy S seven months to reach the same mark. Samsung managed to reach these sales despite being initially hit by supply problems.
The manufacturer said it will bring out four new colours for the handset in the coming months. A blue and red version will be released iun the summer, with purple and brown following afterwards.
JK Shin, CEO and president of Samsung's IT and mobile communications division, said: 'I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung Galaxy S 4. At Samsung we'll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people.'
