O2 appoints Barclaycard's Bibby as new consumer director
O2 has appointed Barclaycard's chief marketing officer Nina Bibby as its new marketing and consumer director.
She replaces Sally Cowdry, who left the operator at the end of April to join Camelot. Bibby will join O2 at the end of November 2013, reporting into O2 CEO Ronan Dunne and sitting on the company's board. Before joining Barclaycard, Bibby was senior vice-president for global brand management at Intercontinental Hotels Group and commercial strategy director for Diageo.
Ronan Dunne said: 'This is an exciting time for Telefónica in the UK and I am pleased someone of Nina’s calibre is joining us. As we move toward being a digital services company, Nina’s experience and energy will be invaluable in helping us to achieve that vision.'
Bibby added: 'I am really pleased to be joining Telefonica UK. O2 is a great brand and I am excited to be joining such a strong team with clear ambitions to redefine the role the business will play for its customers as it evolves into a digital services company.'
