HTC sales hit 11 month high

HTC has seen its sales hit an 11 month high, following the recent launch of its HTC One flagship.

The manufacturer posted monthly sales for May of NT$29.00bn (£632.8m), which is down 3.35% on 2012 but marks an increase of 48.03% on the previous month. HTC's sales had been ailing for some time, with CEO Peter Chou threatening to quit the company if its One flagship was not a sales success. The company has also been hit by a number of departures at executive level, including its UK chief Phil Roberson.

While HTC will be encouraged by May's performance, it is still trading some way behind last year. For the five months from January to May, it had sales of NT$91.4bn (£1.99bn), down 29.07% on 2012.
