Huawei's latest flagship smartphone, the 6.18mm thick Ascend P6, is set to go on sale across all four operators, Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk next month.
The handset will be aggressively positioned on contracts between £21 and £26 per month. The 4.7 inch handset is being targeted at social networkers, with a 5MP front facing wide-angle camera for 'selfies' and 8MP rear-facing camera with a 4cm macro view for close up photos.
The handset has a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor and runs Android Jelly Bean. Huawei has put the latest version of its Emotion UI overlay onto Android, with a battery saving feature, panoramic shot, facial recognition and enhanced security. It will be available in black, white and pink.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei consumer business group, said: 'The Huawei Ascend P6 is a star among smartphones with its industry-leading design, high-quality camera, and intuitive user interface, Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI. Building on the success of our Ascend P series of fashion smartphones, the Huawei Ascend P6 provides unsurpassed technology and a design that is simply stunning.'
