Nokia is set to bring its most affordable 3G devices to date to the UK by the end of September.
The Nokia 207 and 208, which will be priced around €52 (£45) run the Asha operating system and can run 3.5G-capable internet speeds due to its Nokia Xpress service, which compresses data and which Nokia said allows greater scope for social media and video streaming. Features include the Transfer app that provides contact synchronisation, and a ‘Slam’ feature that speeds up Bluetooth sharing.
The Nokia 208 [pictured], which is also available as a dual-sim, has ‘Easy Swap’ technology so that sim cards can be exchanged while the phone is still switched on. The 207 comes without a camera, but both handsets can offer battery life of 33 days standby time and extreme durability.
Timo Toikkanen, executive vice president for mobile phones, said: 'The Nokia 207 and Nokia 208 are designed for people who like a classic phone and traditional keypad but don't want to miss out on smartphone experiences, like staying connected to social media and accessing the internet. As our most affordable 3G devices yet, the Nokia 207 and Nokia 208 offer a perfect balance of performance, features and quality.'
