Sainsbury's is offering three prepay bundles priced from £10, as its new mobile proposition goes live.
Mobile by Sainsbury's, which runs on Vodafone's network, is offering consumers double Nectar points on shopping and fuel if they sign up to mobile bundles. For £10, consumers get 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data. For £15, consumers get 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. The third bundle costs £20 and offers 800 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data. Alternatively, consumers can pay for a basic price plan of calls at 8p per minute, 4p per text and 25MB of data per day for 50p. Sainsbury's is also offering a 'Borrow a Pound' emergency top-up service, with £1 and a 10p fee deducted from a customer's next top-up.
More than 250 stores are set to stock a range of handsets, with dedicated in-store phone shops being trialled in six supermarkets. Up to nine handsets will be available from the Nokia 100 at £12 to the Samsung Galaxy Fame at £115.
Emma McLaughlin, Mobile by Sainsbury's marketing director, said: 'We know that many customers find choosing a mobile phone network a bit stressful, so we’ve opted to not only keep our price plans as affordable as possible – we’ve also made it incredibly simple. With our pay as you go service, customers know exactly what they’re getting and how much they’re spending - which means no nasty surprises at the end of the month.'
