O2 has recruited Plan B to help celebrate the launch of its 4G proposition in a special gig to be streamed around London this month.
An audience of 2,000 is expected to attend the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 29 August, the first day its 4G service goes live in London, Leeds and Bradford. The gig will be streamed to different locations across the capital including Kings Cross, Victoria and Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush. O2 Angels will be on hand to give live demonstrations of 4G at these locations, while selected stores will be open late to coincide with the event. People in other parts of the country can see the gig via YouTube or O2’s social media pages.
The operator has teamed up with Eventstagram to display photos taken by participants, while Soundhalo will record the live show and make the track instantly available to customers via Priority Moments.
Shadi Halliwell, O2’s head of brand, said: ‘We want to inspire customers by showcasing the exciting possibilities provided by 4G, and what better way to do this than by live streaming an exclusive gig across London. By bringing to life brilliant entertainment on the move, we hope to encourage customers to explore technology and to live more, do more and be more with O2.’
O2 customers can purchase tickets for the gig on 21 August, 48 hours before they are released to the general public.
