Nokia 'readies tablet' to add to upcoming phablet
Nokia is reportedly set to unveil a new 4G ready Windows tablet to take on the iPad next month in New York.
The new tablet is said to be thinner than Apple’s offering with a 10.1 inch display. A leaked photo of the device revealed a coloured body, similar in design to its Lumia family of smartphones. The device will run the RT variant of Windows and is due to be made public in New York on 26 September. Sources close to technology website The Verge revealed the tablet will come armed with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Price points are said to be comparable with the iPad so a price war is unlikely to ensue from the off.
The tablet and phablet market is seen an important one for Nokia’s future growth. Earlier this year Mobile reported that the Finnish manufacturer was intent on entering the phablet market with a six-inch screen offering due to go on sale in October.
