Three is offering customers the chance to use their calls, texts and data while overseas in certain countries but without being charged roaming fees.
'Feel at Home' went live this week and is initially available to Three customers in the Republic of Ireland, Australia, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden and Denmark. The operator said that if a customer goes out of their bundle, they will be charged reduced roaming rates.
The move is a first for a UK operator, with some rivals charging customers to access their calls, texts and data while abroad. Vodafone's EuroTraveller charges consumers £3 per day to access their contract bundle.
Thomas Malleschitz, marketing director at Three, said: 'We want to make sure our customers have the best possible mobile experience. By abolishing expensive roaming charges in select countries we are allowing our customers to get even more value from their minutes, texts and data abroad by removing the fear associated with staying in touch while travelling.'
