Doro has announced its new easy-to-use smartphone, the Liberto 810, will be available in the UK from October.
Labelled ‘the world’s most liberating smartphone’, the 810 is the Swedish manufacturer’s second smartphone offering. The device is loaded with Android 4.1 and comes with three physical buttons to accompany a touchscreen interface. The Liberto comes with pre-loaded applications from Doro, while users can download further apps from the Google Play store. The touchscreen keyboard is powered by SwiftKey to add to the device’s ‘ease of operation’.
Chris Millington, managing director of Doro UK and Ireland said: ‘The name Liberto was specifically chosen for our new smartphone as it sums up the essence of the device perfectly. In ancient Rome, servants and slaves of the empire could earn their full citizenship to become fully contributing members of society. Such people were known collectively as ‘the Liberto’.This new mobile helps people, who might be hesitant about using a smartphone, to fully embrace modern society. We are liberating those who perceive smartphones to be overly complicated and crowded with difficult-to-use apps. Our new mobile will bring them into a world of technology in a positive and engaged way.
‘We have fused deep consumer insight with the latest smartphone technology to create something so easy and effortless. We have made functions such as sharing photographs and sending emails easier. The combination of our easy-to-use philosophy and smartphone technology make this a truly unique product. It certainly offers much more to British consumers and network operators alike.’
Jérôme Arnaud, president and CEO at Doro added: ‘Our latest smartphone combines all the functionality of a mainstream handset with everything at the core of Doro. It is this very ‘DNA’ that has solidified us as the clear world-leader in easy-to-use mobile phones.’
