Apple breaks records with 5s and 5c iPhones
Apple has broken more records with its recent launch of two new iPhones with 9 million units sold in three days.
The smartphone giant released the 5s and 5c handsets on Friday, with demand reaching an unprecedented high. On Friday, Mobile was told by several industry sources including operators and retailers that the 5s was selling well and stock issues in the UK were likely. However, sales and pre-orders of the 5c were ‘down on what was expected’. Meanwhile, Apple’s new operating system, iOS7 has reached more than 200 million devices since its launch last week.
Apple chief executive, Tim Cook, told The Wall Street Journal: ‘The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible, and while we've sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5s, stores continue to receive new iPhone shipments regularly.’
