LG launches new tablet for Christmas market
LG is launching an assault on the Christmas market with the unveiling of its G Pad 8.3 tablet.
The device will be available in the UK and Ireland from late October and will sell for around £259.99. The Korean manufacturer has cut an exclusive partnership deal with distributor Micro P, while Harvey Norman stores will have exclusivity in Ireland. The unveiling follows the launch of LG’s new G2 smartphone earlier this month.
The G Pad comes with an 8 inch fully HD display, and runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. It runs the Android Jelly Bean operating system and has a 5MP camera with a 1.3MP front facing camera. The tablet is reportedly ‘as light as a newspaper’ despite its size and 4600mAh battery.
Head of mobile for LG UK, Andy Coughlin, said: ‘The introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 is another great step in design and technology from LG and shows that the G Series is going from strength to strength. Just like the LG G2, the G Pad 8.3 delivers cutting-edge technology in a slim and sleek form, and is just the product for our re-entry into the UK tablet market.’
