giffgaff targets spring launch for 4G offer
O2 MVNO giffgaff is readying a 4G offer for March 2014 and is asking its customers what kind of products it should sell.
The company is already readying a handset launch for December, after several years trading SIM-only deals. It surveyed 4,600 customers earlier this year about their thoughts on 4G. In a blog posting on its site, giffgaff said it would speak to customers during the coming months about further plans. The first consultation will be in November, which will look at how the 4G offer is set-up and how support functions would work. A second consultation in January would discuss 4G deals for customers.
Last week, Tesco became the first MVNO to offer 4G to its customers. Tesco Mobile, which also runs on O2's network, is offering next generation mobile services at a £2.50 price premium.
