Phones 4u hires former EMI exec as new CEO

Phones 4u has appointed the former CEO of EMI Music as its new chief executive.

David Kassler will join the retailer on 11 November. He takes over from Tim Whiting who had been occupying the role on an interim basis since Mary Grant resigned in May this year. Kassler exited his role at EMI after its takeover by Universal earlier this year, and has also worked for Terra Firma and Bass Brewing.

Tim Whiting said: 'We are delighted to welcome David to Phones 4u. This is an important time for our business and an incredibly exciting period for the industry. We're confident that David's passion and track record of delivering excellent customer experiences will bring success to Phones 4u as we continue our journey in the mobile market.'
