TalkTalk boasts of mobile 'credibility'
TalkTalk has added 34,000 customers during the past three months, with the MVNO claiming it is becoming a 'credible' player in the mobile industry.
The MVNO said online was a key route to market, with demand being driven by low cost handset and SIM-only tariffs. During the six months to 30 September, it added 61,000 customers with its mobile base comprising 236,000. In a statement, it said: 'With handset contracts comprising 60% of the mix of Q2 net additions, we are increasingly being seen by our customers as a credible player in the mobile space.'
TalkTalk said its mobile customers were generally happier than those who take its other products and demonstrate significantly lower churn.
The mobile results did not stop TalkTalk in reporting a pre-tax loss of £9m, compared to its £46m profits for the same six month period in 2012.
