O2 revamps 4G tariffs with new £17 offer

O2 customers can now sign up to 4G deals from £17 per month as the ultrafast price war continues.

The UK's second largest network revealed that its 4G service is now reaching 18 million people, almost a third of the population, and its rollout is now six weeks ahead of schedule. Customer going onto the operator's new Refresh tariffs can get unlimited minutes and texts as well as 1GB of data for £17 per month. Sim only customers can get the package for £21 per month for 12 months. Those with a thirst for data can get 8GB on a Refresh tariff for £27 monthly and £36 on sim only.

Since its launch in late August, O2 has switched on 13 cities and 140 surrounding towns. Network rivals EE announced plans earlier this month to have 160 towns switched on by Christmas. In late October the UK's largest network started offering 4G tariffs for £18.99 per month, while Three's new proposition will upgrade existing customers at no extra cost.

O2 general manager of consumer marketing, Phil Maple, said: ‘We are committed to helping our customers unleash the possibilities of 4G, which is why we’re introducing these new tariffs designed to give even more people the chance to experience the very best in mobile technology. Nearly a third of the UK population can now experience the remarkable things that O2 4G has to offer, thanks to the fastest network rollout in our history.’


Even O2 offered 1GB for £17 but at present Vodafone gives more value for your money, it is giving 4GB extra on all 4G plans till 31 January-2014. Is i ...
