Samsung has announced its hotly anticipated Galaxy S5 flagship will be available to pre-order from 28 March.
Selected retailers as well as Samsung’s e-store and Experience Store in Stratford Westfield, will offer a pre-order option for keen purchasers. The device was revealed at Mobile World Congress last month and has seen a raft of customers register their interest already.
Carphone Warehouse, strategic partners with the manufacturer for 60 Experience Stores across Europe, reported in late February that pre-registration levels had surpassed interest in its predecessor, the Galaxy S4, by 130%.
The new smartphone will hit the shelves globally from 11 April.
Samsung VP of IT and mobile division, Simon Stanford, said: ‘We wanted to give our customers in the UK the chance to get their hands on the next generation of our Galaxy S smartphone as soon as possible by giving them the option to pre-order. With the Galaxy S5, we’ve very much focused on the features that our customers want and will use the most on a day to day basis, and look forward to hearing what they think when they get their new device.’
A Carphone Warehouse spokesperson said: 'We’ve seen record numbers of pre-registrations for the Samsung Galaxy S5 compared to its predecessors so we know that customer demand for this new handset is exceptionally high. We’re expecting pre-orders to go through the roof when we open on 28 March as a huge number of Samsung fans are coming toward the end of their contracts and will be looking to upgrade to a new, yet still familiar, device.'
