Curran’s Plan.com hits acquisition trail

Former Yes Telecom founder Keith Curran’s new business venture Plan.com is on the acquisition trail as part an aggressive expansion strategy.

The unified comms provider, which is an O2 Centre of Excellence partner, is gunning for rapid growth through a strategy of organic growth and the acquisition of telecoms dealerships.

Plan.com, which is set to formally launch in June, is aiming to act as a disruptive force in the dealer industry by using state of the art technology to allow partners to build and sign off bespoke deals in real time and control their commission income and cashflow.

Financial backing for Plan.com’s acquisition spree will be provided by Bramden, the investment house owned by Dan Craddock, Curran’s business partner and fellow Plan.com founder and CEO.

Curran (pictured), who is Plan.com’s sales director, said: ‘We are certainly looking to purchase companies across the channel.’ He added: ‘We are looking for really good, solid businesses. These could be dealers or they could be competitors of ours.’

Craddock told Mobile Plan.com will target partners connecting to rival networks and companies in vertical markets.

He said: ‘We are acquiring in order to grow our base and grow our customer numbers. We want to be in the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of customers. We are not in this to have just five to ten thousand customers.

‘We want companies that are in sectors that are difficult for us to get into or we may look to buy companies for the individuals within that company - for their talent and expertise - and for new routes to market.’

Curran told Mobile the new business, which is formally launching in June this year is already attracting significant interest among dealers. He said the company has already signed up over 40 dealers following trials of the new business model and is receiving a steady stream of enquiries as word of mouth recommendations gather pace.

Plan.com is looking to recruit mobile, fixed line and IT resellers to sell its unified comms products and services. It is offering a high tech portal through which real time, bespoke deals can be built and promises a level playing field with no tiered partner schemes. It also offers ?exible upfront funding and high levels of customer support.
