Toughshield takes on Tim Beere as it readies new products

Toughshield has appointed former LG head of marketing communications Tim Beere as its new global head of marketing communications.

Beere will head up the company’s MarCom operations as it readies new rugged devices for the market. Before his role with LG he held the position of global product marketing manager at Motorola. With the Korean manufacturer, Beere looked after its regional growth strategy, overseeing the launches of the G2, and Nexus 5.

Tim will be supported in his role by another new starter, Melanie Havemann, who joins as marketing assistant.

Beere said: ‘We are at the beginning of a rugged revolution in the smart device space and I’m incredibly excited to be at the forefront of this movement leading the way with Toughshield. Whilst rugged devices have historically and predominantly focused on the enterprise market, the accessibility and benefits of Toughshield devices are much broader.

‘The rugged revolution presents a huge growth opportunity. Toughshield has a unique and credible proposition and is perfectly placed to capitalise on this. To be given the responsibility to lead MarCom for Toughshield is a real privilege.’

Toughshield director of strategy, marketing and operations, Mark Davis, added: ‘Tim brings a wealth of consumer smartphone experience to the marketing team which will be invaluable as we enter the new enterprise consumerisation era.’
