Lycamobile has announced that it will donate £1 to a chosen charity every time a customer tops up £10 or more.
The global MVNO will allow customers to choose between Action Aid, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, NSPCC, Oxfam, RSPCA, Save the Children, UNICEF and Water Aid when they add credit to their account. Customers will need to visit their Lycamobile account to nominate their chosen charity.
The move follows Lycamobile Group’s previous charitable initiatives which have supported development projects in India, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Tanzania, Romania and Sudan.
Donations come straight from the company, so customers keep the full value of top-up.
Group Chairman Subaskaran Allirajah said: ‘The larger your business becomes, the greater responsibility you have to give back. This is an ethos which has been prevalent throughout the business for many years: a desire to make a difference. Lycagiving is a fantastic mechanism to show our support for some of the leading charities in the UK that deliver ground-breaking change, both in the UK and across the globe.’
