More restructuring is on the way at Azzuri Communications, after it announced plans to close its office and lab in High Wycombe, Bucks, and a logistics centre in Aldridge, West Midlands. The company will consolidate all operations into its head office in Weybridge, Surrey.
The moves will lead to 24 redundancies, around 4% of the staff.
The news follows an eventful year for Azzuri, in which the company has seen a haemorrhaging of key staff and a number of redundancies.
CEO Vim Vithaldas will depart the company on 11 June 2014, and chairman Steve Andrews will step into the role of interim CEO.
Andrews will lead the implementation of Azzurri’s new three-year growth strategy, including a programme of operational restructuring.
The strategy is centred on building out its managed communications services for UK-based corporates that are founded on the company’s cloud and managed communications. It has already launched two new services: ICON Communicate, a cloud-based managed comms service, and ICON Mobilise, allowing organisations to manage and secure mobile devices across complex estates.
Commenting on the restructuring Andrews said: ‘We are extremely well positioned to deliver value to both our customers and shareholders as the economy improves.’
