Exertis Micro-P, Sony, EE, Samsung and HTC were among the big winners at this year's Mobile Industry Awards.
It was also a good year for independent retail, with Carphone CEO Andrew Harrison winning the Person of the Year award for his part in the Dixons-Carphone merger, adding to Carphone's success as Best High Street Retailer.
But it was John Sherwood of Digital Phone Company who stole the show, becoming the first independent retailer to win Shop Idol.

Elsewhere, Exertis Micro-P did the double in the distributor categories, winning Best Accessories Distributor and B2B Distributor.
EE was also rampant in the operator awards, bagging Best Consumer Network and Best b2b network. EE impressed the judges for its commitment to 4G, and for its innovation, and tariffs.
HTC carried off both Phone of the Year and Hottest New Phone on the strength of its outstanding product design. Samsung also lifted the trophy for Best Phablet, as well as winning Best Field Marketing Team.
However it was Sony that received the ultimate accolade of Manufacturer of the Year, with industry judges praising him for its range of products and collaborative attitude.
