Vodafone has launched a new WorldTraveller service, which allows Pay monthly customers to take their existing UK minutes, texts and data with them to a number of destinations.
Vodafone WorldTraveller is available to Pay monthly customers, including business travellers on certain price plans, travelling to the US, India, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Ghana, Qatar and South Africa.
Vodafone customers can opt in to the service by calling 5555. The option costs £5 a day (incl. VAT) with no charge for receiving calls or texts. Customers pay for the days they use their mobile.
A Vodafone spokesperson told Mobile: 'We introduced Vodafone EuroTraveller back in 2012 for our customers travelling to Europe. It has proved hugely successful with more than 1.5 million currently signed up. We're confident Vodafone WorldTraveller will prove just as popular for those customers travelling further afield. Whether on holiday or on a business trip, we continue to take the worry out of using your mobile phone abroad.'
The new roaming service by Vodafone follows on the heels of a major campaign by Three to push its roaming deal. Three is also running prime time TV ads on its roaming price reductions.
