The latest Lumia smartphone - the Lumia 930 - will land in UK stores from 17 July, Microsoft Devices announced today.
This is the first Lumia to be launched since Microsoft bought Nokia’s devices division earlier this year and the first Lumia to launch without the Nokia brand attached. The manufacturer – now rebadged as Microsoft Devices –said the Lumia 930 will be available on contract from £33.
Conor Pierce, who now sports the title of VP of Microsoft Devices for the UK & Ireland, said: ‘We live in a world that is becoming even more social and where sharing and capturing moments has never been so important. The Lumia 930 is the perfect blend of design, colour and Microsoft Lumia services, delivering cutting-edge technology to create an unrivalled video and imaging smartphone experience that are instantly shareable.’
The Lumia 930, which comes in a range of vibrant colours, runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1 software. The company said the flagship device delivers the best of Microsoft and Lumia providing a 20 megapixel PureView camera and 5-inch OLED full HD display and allowing users to keep content like photos, videos and documents in sync using the free OneDrive cloud service across Windows Phone, PC, tablet, Xbox and other connected devices.
Microsoft Devices is also offering a promotional package worth £130 with the Lumia 930 from 17 July to 31 July, which will see participating retailers include a free additional wireless charger, the MD-12 speaker plus a voucher for £20 of free apps from the Windows store.
The Lumia 930 will be available from Vodafone, EE, Phones4U, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Tesco and Amazon and other UK High Street and online retailers with Phones4U stocking it exclusively in white.
