Huawei joins board of 5G Infrastructure Association in Europe
Information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei has announced it will join the board of the 5G Infrastructure Association in Europe. The news followed A general assembly in Bologna, Italy.
Located in Belgium, the 5G Infrastructure Association is involved in research projects involving the superfast connectivity and puts together global standards on the use of the network.
Huawei will play an important advisory role and will be a part of influencing the EU's strategy on 5G research. Dr David Soldani of Huawei European Research Centre will represent the company on the board.
He will promote the interests of the 5G Public and Private Partnership, the joint initiative between the European Commission and the European ICT industry.
The group said, 'Huawei will place significant effort in driving 5G foundational technology research, tests and large scale trials in collaboration with partners to assess the technical feasibility and business viability of new 5G technologies.'
