Mobile messaging provider CardBoardFish has been acquired by US group Mblox in an undisclosed deal. Mblox is the largest independent application-to-person (A2P) SMS provider in the world. It has over 100 direct commercial carrier and operator connections.
Canterbury-based CardBoardFish developed an automated A2P messaging platform offering a high level of security and reliability. The Kent firm is also registered as a mobile operator in a number of countries. It has been in operation for the past fifteen years.
Tom Cotney, chief executive of CardBoardFish, will remain on as chief executive of Mblox. Allister Collins, technical founder of CardBoardFish, will take up the role of chief architect of the messaging platform. CardBoardFish operations founder Ben Fitter will act as a consultant to Mblox.
