Mobile network operator O2 has announced that the iPad Air and iPad mini with retina display will be available on its network from July 24. O2 is offering the iPads with a range of data plans to allow customers to connect to its 4G network.
The iPad Air and iPad mini will be available on O2 Refresh consumer tariffs offering from 500MB to 8GB data. Customers choosing 5GB data can get the iPad Air 16GB for £33 per month with £29.99 upfront. Meanwhile, the iPad mini 16GB will be priced at £31 per month with £19.99 upfront. The iPad Air and iPad mini will also be available for business customers.
Nina Bibby, marketing and consumer director at O2, said that the iPad continues to revolutionise the tablet market, giving people the ability to do even more on the go. 'We’re proud to be able to offer it to our customers,' she said.
'We’re passionate about giving customers the best choice of mobile devices and, with O2 Refresh, the best way to buy them – no waiting to get a new device and lower bills when you stay with your current one.'
She added that the O2 app, TU Go, also lets customers make calls and send texts via their iPads.
