Mobile network Vodafone has signed a seven-year, multi-million pound contract with global insurance firm Aviva. The company has been a partner to Aviva for the past 17 years.
The operator will now provide communications services such as cloud storage and fixed and remote data connectivity services for Aviva's UK and Ireland business divisions.
Vodafone will also manage a cloud-based contact centre service to support 12,000 employees in customer-facing operational roles across Aviva sites in the UK and Ireland.
Vodafone will equip Aviva staff with tools such as document sharing, instant messaging and conferencing services that are based on the Vodafone One Net unified communications package. The tools will help employees offer an improved level of service and support to its customers.
Jan Geldmacher, CEO of Vodafone Global Enterprise, said of the new deal: 'These sophisticated and innovative technologies will help transform how Aviva operates, further differentiating the company from its competitors.'
Nick Amin, chief operations and transformation officer at Aviva, said: 'This development builds on our existing relationship and strengthens the understanding and alignment between our two companies.'
