Mobile phone producer KAZAM has merged with rugged mobile brand ToughShield. It has also set up a new business division, ‘KAZAM for business’, to focus on the enterprise sector of the industry.
KAZAM offers a range of handsets from low-cost feature phones to high-end smartphones while Toughshield's portfolio includes rugged phones and tablets.
Speaking on the news, Michael Coombes, chief executive of KAZAM, said, 'This is a significant step for KAZAM, enabling us to broaden our product portfolio, delivering even more choice to consumers & businesses.'
He continued, 'ToughShield has solid experience and credibility in rugged product, specifically within the enterprise market.'
The integration will allow KAZAM to take advantage of that, he said.
Merrick Edwards, chief executive of ToughShield added, 'This is an exciting & dynamic move for both KAZAM and ToughShield and we are thrilled to be offering such a strong product portfolio.'
Edwards went on to say that with the European mobile device market becoming increasingly competitive, the integration will 'enable us to stand out.'
