IFA News: Samsung’s Note 4 phablet available at EE, Phones 4u
As Samsung announced the launch of the new Note 4 phablet at IFA this year, EE and Phones 4u were amongst the first to say they would be offering the device to customers.
Phones 4u revealed that when the phone lands in the UK customers would be able to buy the handset at Phones 4u in black, white and exclusively in gold for the first eight weeks following launch.
EE meanwhile announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would be available on its 4G service with more details on pricing and availability to be announced in due course.
Reacting to the launch of the Note 4 Ben Wood, Chief of Research, CCS Insight, said: ‘Samsung needs the Galaxy Note 4 to be a hit. It has to make up some of the ground it lost as a result of the relatively poor reception to the all-plastic Galaxy S5 when it was launched in February. Samsung will be hoping the new metal based “Alpha” design language delivers a premium package in the eyes of consumers and does enough to be competitive against Apple’s much anticipated iPhone 6.’
‘The age of the phablet is effectively over. Most flagship smartphones now have screens of five inches or more. We’ve come a long way since Samsung announced its first Note device in Berlin three years ago when its size was greeted with incredulity.’
