Both Samsung and 02 made it four wins in a row at the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards held in London last night. Samsung collected the best manufacturer prize for the fourth year running, while 02 landed the award for best customer care for the same number of years. It was a trophy-laden night for the manufacturer, which finished with victories in two other categories.
In the best network category EE were triumphant for the second year running, beating Three, 02 and Vodafone to the prize. Carphone Warehouse won the best high street retailer category. Three won the best in-store customer experience award.
The online retailer award was won by Buymobiles.net with Envirofone winning the best recycling service prize.
There was fierce competition amongst manufacturers in the product categories, and HTC maintained its hold on the sought-after phone of the year trophy for the HTC One (M8). Nokia picked up the best value phone for the Lumia 630, and in the camera phone category the Sony Xperia Z2 came out on top.
This year’s edition of the awards also saw the introduction of a new category for best wearable, which was won by the Motorola Moto 360. Overall, there were 10 product categories with the network and retail segments 100% reader voted; this year’s awards received 77,000 consumer votes in total.
