O2 offers over 100 places on its graduate and intern schemes

O2 is on the hunt for over 100 candidates for its graduate recruitment and paid internship programmes.

The new recruits to both schemes will work across a range of roles at O2's Leeds and Slough offices.

The O2 graduate recruitment scheme lasts a minimum of two years and is targeted at ‘creative, tech-savvy students,’ the operator said.

Roles are offered across a range of skills areas, from relationship management and marketing, to finance, data and analytics, commercial strategy and technical areas. The application deadline is 24 October.

O2 is also offering 12 month paid internships to 60 young people. O2 said the internship will give successful candidates experience across all areas of the business. Applications close on 10 November.

Ann Pickering, HR director at O2, said: ‘At O2, young people are a valued part of our business, bringing enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and their digital skills into our workplace. Many of the graduates and interns who joined us last year have already made a big impact, leading teams or projects and using their digital know-how to really shape the way we do things. That’s why this time of year is such an exciting one for us, because we know the young people joining us now could be the future leaders of our business.

‘We’re privileged at O2 to be at the cutting edge of the digital revolution and through our graduate and intern roles we’re offering over 100 ambitious young people the opportunity to work right at the heart of it, on exciting projects that really will affect the future of the company - and the UK as a whole.’

James Tattersall, 23, currently in his second year of the O2 graduate scheme, said he had learnt ‘ a huge amount’through formal training ans support and also in working closely with ‘’some of the best in the digital industry.’

He added: ‘Young people working at O2 are seen as the future leaders of the business and are given a great deal of trust and responsibility from day one. We’re not just there to make up the numbers – we’re there to give our views and play an active role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. I’ve only been at O2 for a year but I already feel like I’ve got a great career ahead of me.’
