Symbian hits 100 million mark
Symbian has hit a milestone, shipping its 100 millionth smartphone today.

It has already shipped 37 million this year and 13 million of those were in Q3 alone. Symbian has shipped smartphones to over 250 network operators worldwide since its launch in six years ago.

The Ericsson R830 was the first Symbian OS phone, shipping in 2000. Since, then, Symbian has sold devices manufactured by BenQ, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Sendo, Sharp, Siemens, and Sony Ericsson.
